Plans & pricing

Simple plans. Serious value.

Three clear plans built around what your business actually needs. Fixed monthly pricing, no hidden fees, and never a surprise bill.

Why it's worth it

What good accounting is actually worth.

A good accountant isn't a cost on the spreadsheet. It's one of the highest-return decisions a business owner makes.

Your time back

The average small business owner loses more than 15 hours a month to financial admin. That's time you could be spending winning work and building the business.

Planning, not just filing

Most tax decisions can only be influenced before your year end, not when the return is being prepared. We look at your position while there is still time to do something about it.

Penalties avoided

HMRC late-filing penalties start at £100 and climb fast. One missed deadline can cost more than a month of proper accounting. We make sure it never happens.

Sharper decisions

Businesses that see accurate numbers every month grow faster and sleep better. You can't steer with confidence when you're guessing at the figures.

Pricing depends on your transaction volume, who does the bookkeeping and the state of your records, so there is no honest one-size figure. Our instant quote calculator gives you a real number in minutes.

Add anything you need.

These sit outside the packages, so you only pay for them when they are genuinely useful to you. They are the ones clients ask for most often rather than a fixed menu, so if you need something that is not listed here, just ask.

Questions & answers

Everything you're wondering.

The honest answers to what's included, and what switching to us really looks like.

Your plan

Essentials covers your core compliance, everything you are legally required to file, done properly and on time, plus a business review meeting once a year. Growth adds management accounts so you can see how the business is performing month to month, and business review meetings twice a year. For limited companies it also adds salary and dividend planning; for sole traders and partnerships, an incorporation review. Strategic adds cashflow forecasting, budgeting and variance analysis, a full KPI dashboard, supplier payment runs prepared for you to approve, and business review meetings every quarter. Every package includes a named accountant, an onboarding financial health check, a client portal with unlimited queries, deadline and payment reminders, and HMRC correspondence handled. Your compliance lines depend on whether you are a sole trader, a partnership or a limited company, so the packages page lets you switch between the three to see exactly what applies to you.

Yes. Personal self-assessment is included in every plan, at every level, whether you are a sole trader, a partner or a company director. No separate charge, no surprise bill in January.

Yes, on every plan. If HMRC writes to you or raises a query, we deal with it on your behalf. You should never have to sit on hold to HMRC or decode one of their letters again.

Payroll is a separate monthly add-on rather than part of the base plan. We keep it that way on purpose so you only pay for what you actually need, no paying for payroll you don't run. When you do need it, it's a simple monthly fee based on how many people you pay and how often.

No, and that's deliberate. The plans cover your recurring accounting work. Getting set up on Xero or QuickBooks, migrating your data, connecting your bank feeds and training your team is a dedicated one-off Cloud Accounting project. That way the setup gets the proper attention it deserves rather than being rushed in alongside everything else.

Company formation isn't part of the standard plans, it's a separate one-off service, so if you need it just ask and we'll quote it clearly upfront. R&D tax credit claims aren't a service we offer.

Fractional CFO is an optional add-on, available to clients who have been with Aethon for at least twelve months. That isn't a barrier, it's the point. To genuinely act as your CFO we need real, lived knowledge of how your business works, your margins, your patterns and your ambitions. Twelve months of handling your numbers gives us the competence to do the role properly rather than guess at it.

Yes. Your plan is meant to flex with you. As your business grows or your needs change, you can move to a different plan and we'll apply it from your next billing cycle. You're not tied into a long contract, and if you ever decide to leave we simply ask for three months' notice so we can hand everything over to your new accountant properly.

Switching to Aethon

It's far easier than most people expect, because we do the heavy lifting. Once you give us the go-ahead, we contact your current accountant directly and request everything we need through a process called professional clearance. You don't have to have the awkward conversation or chase anyone. We manage the whole handover behind the scenes.

Very little. Most new clients spend under an hour with us at the start, telling us about the business and signing a couple of forms. From there we handle the transition, the paperwork and the back-and-forth with your old accountant. You stay focused on running the business.

Before we take anything on, we run a full review of your records so we know exactly where you stand, what's been filed, what's outstanding and where you are with HMRC. Nothing gets assumed. If we find a gap, we tell you straight and put a plan in place to fix it.

You don't need to worry about that. Professional clearance is a regulated, routine part of how the industry works, and your outgoing accountant is professionally obliged to pass on your records. We deal with them directly, so any friction stays well away from you.

Fair question, because most people switch out of frustration: unanswered emails, jargon, and an accountant who only surfaces at year end. Aethon is built to be the opposite. Fixed pricing you can see upfront, proactive advice rather than silence, and a straight-talking approach with no hiding behind technicalities. We'd rather earn your trust every quarter than take it for granted.

No fixed term. We don't tie you into a long contract. All we ask is three months' notice if you ever decide to move on, so we can finish any work in progress and hand over to your new accountant properly. Good tax planning and a well-organised set of accounts take time to deliver, and three months lets us leave you in good shape rather than mid-job.

No setup fees and no leaving fees. During onboarding we'll review your current setup, and if things need bringing up to speed, for example unreconciled accounts or a backlog of transactions left by a previous accountant or an old system, there may be an additional one-off charge to get you straight. We'll always agree that with you upfront before doing any work. Beyond that, all we ask is three months' notice if you ever decide to leave.
